Anachrony is set in the distant future after a massive cataclysm has destroyed most people on Earth. The surviving humans have organized groups, or “Paths,” each trying to rebuild the world as they see fit. They must also all prepare for the giant asteroid headed towards Earth. Despite the devastation and chaos each group has a powerful tool in their favor, time travel along the Time Rifts.
By using the Time Rifts, each Path is able to reach back to specific moments in their past. Doing so can greatly speed up their progress, but too much meddling may endanger the time-space continuum. Players have to balance the danger they create with the impending doom of the asteroid. Anachrony is a multi-award-winning, complex head burner, just like any great time travel story.
