Calico is a quick-to-learn tile-placing game from local game designer, Kevin Russ. Each player is making a quilt that will hopefully become an attractive bed for some sleepy cats. They do so by drafting tiles of varying colors and patterns and placing them on their board, trying to match them to one of the three objectives. Along the way they can earn buttons to sew into their quilt and attract cats to lie down. In the end players are awarded points for buttons, cats, and how well they achieved their objectives. Fun fact – Calico isn’t just a term for cats with 3-colored coats, it’s also a type of quilting fabric.
