Cosmic Encounter
Players: 3-5
Time: 90 – 120 min
Interaction: Semi-Cooperative
Audience: Serious
You play as one of dozens of bizarre alien species, each with a unique rule-breaking power, and set out to colonize the galaxy. Each turn one player will be given the option to invade a randomly determined opponent’s planet, at which point they can try and engage in diplomacy with that player or they can attack. If you choose to attack, then all the other players may be invited to help either you or your opponent in the battle, with plenty of back-dealing and negotiation in the process. The battles play out as a card game, with special abilities offering surprising twists. Tons of replayability. Also plays well at higher player counts since everyone can be involved in each player’s turns.
